|THE STORY OF CLEAN RIDGE SOAP COMPANY, LLC
In 1998, Mia Camacho-Fitzgerald moved to the quaint town of Pound Ridge, NY. Sensitive to the
combination of harsh local well water and commercial soap, her skin became extremely dry and itchy.
After years of trying different soaps, Mia learned how to make her own soap using only natural
ingredients. Within a few months, Mia made over 500 bars, giving many away to friends and co-workers
who kept asking for more. Working on a hunch, Mia formed Clean Ridge Soap Company, LLC in 2004,
launching with 12 bar soaps, five liquid soaps and 30 baskets. The first holiday season was a success,
with over 300 baskets ordered.
In 2008, Mia and her husband visited historic Fernandina Beach in northeast Florida and fell in love with
the people, the community, and the landscape. They now split their time between both states. Now Mia
makes Clean Ridge products in both locations, using plants & herbs from local New York & Florida farms.
We are so proud to say we are now in our ninth year in business. To our returning friends: thank you
for making Clean Ridge a success. We look forward to offering the best and purest products available
for many years to come. To our new friends: welcome to the Clean Ridge Soap experience. We hope
you enjoy using our products as much as we enjoy making them.
Today, Clean Ridge Soap products can be found throughout the country. All of our 120 products,
including lip balms, lotions, diffusers and candles, are made by hand and packaged in the U.S. Products
are all-natural, crafted from the finest ingredients including avocado butter, jojoba and olive oils, along
with essential oils of lavender, lemon, lime, peppermint and rosemary, as well as ground vanilla beans,
almonds, oats, annatto seeds, and ultramarine oxides for colorants. There is no animal testing ever.
Clean Ridge Wood Turning, creators of handmade bottle stoppers and pens, is a new company with
deep roots in superior quality craftsmanship. Founder Kevin Fitzgerald, a lifelong woodworker, turns
exotic and domestic hardwoods and acrylics into one-of-a-kind hand-turned, hand-polished designs.
Only the highest quality woods are used, including ebony, maple, oak, mahogany and burled woods,
from both local Florida trees, and as far as the Philippines. High end acrylics are also used, to make
pieces that resemble richly colored marble.
Clean Ridge offers gift-wrapping as well as individually printed gift notes with matching envelopes.
